About the Artist

About Photo.jpeg

My mom encouraged creative messes, letting us express ourselves through all mediums of art and craft without criticism. For me, craft has taken on many forms over the years: songwriting, photography, mothering, and finally clay.

I discovered my passion for clay in a night class in Pasadena, California, instructed by a well-known fine-art ceramicist who both inspired and intimidated me. My hands working with clay felt natural: forever past, present and future. I felt connected to it, like the familiarity I feel with music. But after only two semesters, I set it aside to devote my time to the huge task of mothering my firstborn, who filled my creative needs in beautiful ways.

I found clay again in the deep pottery roots of Appalachia and started Juno Pottery three years ago. I strive to create simple, functional pottery that is both artful and sculptural in design. I create pieces that work well in any home, elevating everyday dining and living experiences. I currently live in Asheville, North Carolina with my husband, Jeremy, and our three children, Finn, Tennessee and Pearl. Together we continue to make creative messes both in my studio and in our home.

Juno Pottery is available for select wholesale and custom orders.
